Qualtrics is a hosted survey and research tool that Stony Brook University has subscribed to in order to conduct quality surveys with the end result of collecting and analyzing data. It is available to all students, faculty, and staff who have an active NetID.

Qualtrics cannot be used for clinical purposes or to collect data considered Protected Health Information (PHI). Confirm with IRB if you can use Qualtrics for your research.

7/28/23: New Customer Success Hub Qualtrics has launched a new self-service digital portal with personalized learning content and easy access to view your Qualtrics support tickets. Sign into the hub with SSO by entering stonybrookuniversity as the Organization ID as per here.


4/13/23: The legacy single response report in Qualtrics will be discontinued as of April 17th, 2023. This feature created a URL that displayed a report for a single survey response. The format of this URL would appear as shown below:


These URLs are no longer generated by any workflows in the Qualtrics platform. If you have any questions in response to this change, please contact Qualtrics Support.

Creating a Qualtrics Account

Your Stony Brook Qualtrics account will be created in Qualtrics the first time you sign on. Click on the button that states you do not have an existing Qualtrics account. You will get a chance to correct your pre-populated email address and full name.
