When setting up online exams/quizzes in Blackboard, if you check the box "Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam", your students are required use the Respondus LockDown Browser. Students must install the software before they can take the exam. This custom browser prevents Internet searches, accessing notes or other applications on the computer, or copying the exam questions themselves, among other things.
Early Exits in Lockdown Browser
1. If a student participates in Early Exit, when the instructor visits the Lockdown Browser Dashboard the early exit will be noted in the bottom left hand corner of the assessment (orange circle with a number in it.) The number in the orange circle will be in direct relationship to the number of early exits registered for the assessment.
2. When the instructor selects the drop down menu for the assessment that registers the early exit, they will see an option to "Review Early Exits.'"
3. Once this option is selected a list of the Early Exits for this exam will populate for the instructor.
Respondus Monitor
Respondus Monitor Uses the student's webcam to prevent cheating during non-proctored exams. Learn more about Respondus Monitor.
