Enrolling into the DUO Security System

To improve our security posture, we have incorporated DUO Security as a two-factor authentication solution into all Login Nodes. Starting on April 16, 2020, you will be required to enroll in DUO using the steps found below in order to access the SeaWulf cluster.

DUO Security

If you tried logging into SeaWulf recently, you may have noticed that you are required to use DUO security to authenticate. DUO provides an additional layer of security on the SeaWulf cluster by asking you to confirm your login attempt by accepting a push notification to your smart phone.

The Division of Information Technology offers the DUO service page, which can be referred to for additional information regarding this service.

DUO Lockouts

If you receive an error message stating "Authentication failure: Invalid username or password" after correctly entering your NetID and password, you may be locked out of Duo Security two-step login. This issue can occur with any system requiring two-step login.

Please call 2-9800 or submit a service ticket so that a Duo Administrator can unlock your account.

Ensure that your default device is available when you log in. If necessary, update your Duo settings to ensure you have a default device available: Managing Your Duo Devices and Settings
