Be Aware Of Gift Card and other Financial Scams

Stony Brook employees will never ask for payments to be made via gift cards. All tuition payments will be made directly to Student Financial Services and can be made via Solar, mailed check, or in person at their service counter.

Don’t. Get. Phished.

Every day the bad guys are trying to phish one of us, and they seem to be especially fond of Stony Brook students. What should you do if you receive a phishing email? Make sure to review this important tip sheet and our Secure Computing Guide for Students so you will be fully prepared.

Keeping Your Accounts Secure With Duo Push

  • You will never be asked to share a Duo Passcode through text or email.
  • Random Push?  Do not approve a push if you did not initiate a log in!
  • You can add a backup device to Duo for when your primary device is unavailable.
