“Start Quiz” Button Not Visible to Learners in Brightspace

Issue
Some instructors report that learners cannot see the “Start Quiz” button in Brightspace, even when:
- The quiz start date is correctly set (e.g., earlier today).
- The due date and end date are the same.
Root Cause
This commonly occurs when instructors use the “View as Learner” feature to test the course. While helpful for checking content visibility, this mode does not simulate taking a quiz as a real student.
🔹 In View as Learner, the “Start Quiz” button will not appear because quiz submission is disabled in this mode.
Recommended Solution
Option 1: Log in with a Student Test Account
To properly verify quiz visibility and functionality, ask one of your enrolled students to confirm whether the “Start Quiz” button is visible and working.
Option 2: Log in with a Student Test Account
- Use a dummy student account provided by your institution to enroll in the course.
- Log in with that account to verify the quiz experience.
