At DoIT, we believe that making an impact goes beyond technology, it’s about people. Our team is proud to support the campus and local community through ongoing service initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of others.
Our Community Initiatives
Eyeglasses Drive
In collaboration with Finance and Administration Alliance for Culture, Diversity & Inclusion Committee, DoIT committed to helping with an Eyeglass Collection in partnership with Caitlyn’s Vision, a local organization that refurbishes eyeglasses for those in need while also raising awareness.
Seawolves Pantry Drive
DoIT is proud to have partnered with the Seawolves Pantry. DoIT all month long in September collected food, unopened hygiene items, school supplies to ensure no member of our Seawolves community goes without essential resources.
Dress for Success
In collaboration with Finance and Administration Alliance for Culture, Diversity & Inclusion committee, DoIT donated clothing items to a local organization, Dress for Success and Career Couture. This offers individuals business attire for upcoming interviews at no-cost.
Sponsor-A-Family
From Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, Sponsor-A-Family helps make meaningful differences in the lives of children and their families. For the seventh consecutive year, DoIT will be sponsoring a family. Further information about the event will be announced.
Our Results
Through September, DoIT employees contributed over 3 boxes of food which was then donated to the Seawolves Pantry
Last April, DoIT and other Finance and Administration staff cleaned out their closets and for the Dress for Success clothing drive.
We collected over 2 dozen pairs of gently used eyeglasses throughout the month of October as a part of the F&A Alliance for Culture
In December of 2025, the DoIT staff generously donated over 3 dozen gifts for family's in need.
