Shortcuts

A shortcut is a key combination that you can press to quickly do a task that would otherwise involve a series of clicks. Shortcuts will work across most programs.

• Copy, Cut, and Paste
  • Windows: Control + C (copy), Control + X (cut), Control + V (paste)
  • Mac: Command + C (copy), Command + X(cut), Command + V (paste)
• Undo
  • Windows: Control + Z
  • Mac: Command + Z
• Select All
  • Windows: Control + A
  • Mac: Command + A
• Find 
  • Windows: Control + F
  • Mac: Command + F
• Save
  • Windows: Control + S

Screenshots

A screenshot is a still image of your computer's screen. Screenshots are very useful, especially when filling out an IT Service Portal. 

• Windows: Printscreen key, this will copy an image of your screen to your clipboard, you can view this image by opening a blank document or email and pressing "Control+V"
  • If you want to capture only part of the screen, use Windows Snipping Tool. 
• Mac: Command + Shift + 4, drag the crosshair across the area you want to capture, the image will be saved to your desktop as "Screen Shot [year]-[month]-[date] at [time]"
