Upcoming changes to Brightspace this Winter!

Starting December 23rd, based on instructor and student requests our Brightspace platform will have additional tools and functionality.

New Course Materials

OpenStax is the world’s largest publisher of open education resources.  Instructors who are interested in OER resources are encouraged to contact the library 

Sage Vantage will be available after 1/3/25. In order to use this tool, Instructors must have a Sage account and students are required to purchase Sage textbooks.

New Features in Brightspace

Advanced Assessments help instructors manage courses with large class sizes and multiple evaluators, delegate and manage evaluator workflows, and reduce bias in marking. If you used Blackboard previously, it’s similar to delegated grading.  Read more

View Grade Schemes in real time! Instructors have the ability to view the grade scheme that is applied to learners in real time, based on the grade they enter during the evaluation process. You can also choose to Hide/Show Learner View of Grade directly from the evaluation experience.

Course Overview widget

Course Overview widget displays # of visits, class engagement and other details.

is now available for Instructors.  Realtime visibility of activity including # of visits to the course, class engagement, course access & tools access for ONLY instructors.  In order to see results, Instructors must add the widget to their course homepage. Read more

Turnitin is available in Brightspace

In October, we renewed our contract with Turnitin. Our contract includes access to PeerMark, Feedback Studio & plagiarism detection. Detailed information as well as upcoming webinar information can be found on our Turnitin Service Page
