Single Sign On (SSO) - Error Accessing a Federated Service

If you've been redirected to this page, then there was a problem accessing a Shibboleth-protected service. 

Potential Causes

This Could Be Due to One of the Following Reasons

The Service May Be Having Technical Difficulties

Check the IT Status Page for information regarding scheduled maintenance or service distruptions.

You May Not Be Authorized to Access the Service

Check with the service owner to ensure you have the correct privledges to access the system

Your Browser Cache Is Invalid

Try restarting your browser or using another browser to ensure that any previous credentials or errors are not cached.

Report a Problem

If You Are Still Unable to Access the Service, Please Submit a Service Request or Contact the Help Desk

Please have the following information available or included in your service ticket

  • Your Full Name.
  • Your NetID.
  • Time and date of the issue.
  • The name of the service you were attempting to access (i.e., "Google Mail")
  • The URL of the service you were attempting to access (i.e., “http://go.stonybrook.edu/gmail")
  • Any specific errors that were displayed on the web page you saw before being redirected to this page.
