Each semester, undergraduate students who work for Academic Technologies lead technology workshops to promote digital literacy. The purpose of our Digital Literacy program is to help our student leaders develop their leadership, communication, teamwork, and professional competencies while helping all students develop their technology skills. Prior to offering a workshop, students must successfully complete the DoIT student leadership internship and demonstrate skills such as presentation skills, course design, and technical writing. In addition, our students help anyone on our campus who requires assistance with academic technology, including but not limited to Brightspace, Google Apps, VoiceThread, and Echo360.

This semester, we offered 8 online and in-person technology workshops and empowered 400 students amounting to 500 contacts hours in workshops! Topics included: Beginner Programming (Python, Javascript, and HTML/CSS), MATLAB, Excel, resume writing, and crafting/establishing an online presence. Workshops this semester were led by: Amritpreet Singh, Ann Saji, Benny Liu, Giovanni Terefi, Jahnavi Shah, Joseph Khanimov, Nick Dedonato, Vincent Ke, & Zhenting Ling.
