For the safety and security of data in SBU's Google Drive, we cannot make a Gmail account an owner of a document on SBU's Google Drive accounts.
Workarounds:
We can, however, share documents with personal Gmail accounts.
- Share a single document with a personal email account. Then in the personal Gmail account, open the file, click File > Make a copy. When you make a copy, the personal Gmail account will be the owner of the copy.
- If you would like to take your documents with you when you leave the university, download your data using Google Takeout. View these Google Takeout Instructions.
- Review the article on Learn Stony Brook for Leaving Stony Brook.
