Daniel Keenan

With over 20 years of leadership experience in advertising, marketing, and communications, Dan brings a unique and effective perspective to IT project management in higher education. His career began by leading teams and product launches for over 10 brands, including more than five one-billion-dollar brands in the healthcare space. He managed client relationships, provided recommendations, and oversaw the execution of key strategies for global brands, effectively managing hundreds of projects.

Dan's core strengths are rooted in flawless execution, building, and managing successful teams. With a lifelong passion for technology, he has a proven track record of managing digital initiatives in both multi-channel and omni-channel environments. He strategically transitioned his focus to align these strengths with his love of learning, technology, logistics, and project management.

Since joining Stony Brook University, Dan has leveraged his deep experience to effectively manage complex projects using a hybrid project methodology (predictive and agile).

Dan has received a formal certificate in project management from Stony Brook with a PMP (Project Management Professional) credential soon to follow.

When he's not steering IT projects to success, Dan recharges by building his home theater/media room and enjoying movies. His perfect free time is spent with his wife Amanda and their Bernedoodle, Atticus (aka, The Floof). Dan also volunteers frequently and leads a ministry at his local church, always making time for his family and friends.

Two decades, countless brands, and a pivot to higher education later, Dan continues to focus on what he loves, bringing flawless execution and strong leadership to every new project.
