EPMO Team Welcomes New Intern!
The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is excited to welcome our newest intern, Irina Tsagareishvili, to the fold! Irina joins us for the fall semester, bringing her enthusiasm and eagerness to learn to our team.
This internship program is designed to provide students with real-world experience in the field of project management. Over the summer, we piloted the program with Prachi Kadam, who gained valuable experience working on active projects, learning the TeamDynamix PPM tool, and becoming familiar with our project management framework. We were thrilled to have Prachi join us for a celebratory team lunch to welcome Irina!
"We believe that providing students with hands-on experience is crucial to their development as future project management professionals," says Heather McLaughlin, Senior Director, Enterprise Project Management Office. "It's one thing to learn the theory in the classroom, but quite another to apply it in a real-world setting."
During her internship, Irina will be immersed in the day-to-day activities of our team, contributing to ongoing projects, developing her skills with industry-standard tools like TeamDynamix, and gaining a deep understanding of our project management framework. As part of her internship experience, Irina will also be tasked with managing a small project independently, with the full support and guidance of the EPMO team.
"This internship program not only benefits the students, but also strengthens our team and our ability to support the University's mission," says John Passaro, Senior Project Manager.
Dan Keenan, Project Manager, adds "Irina's fresh perspective and enthusiasm will be a valuable asset to our team."
The EPMO team plans to offer one internship position each semester, providing ongoing opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career in project management.
We are so glad to have you, Irina! And we greatly appreciate Prachi and her willingness to be the ‘first’ Intern!
