Enhanced Google Workspace Tools for Faculty and Staff

Over the years, many have asked for ways to expand Google tools - for email merge, smarter notifications in Sheets, and more. We are glad to say that today we’ve expanded West Campus Faculty and Staff Google Workspace Accounts to Education Plus, giving access to these requested features and many more. 

NOTE:  This morning, licenses were applied to all Faculty & Staff who are NOT Stony Brook Medicine employees.  You should have access to all of the following by 3pm tomorrow (Thursday 3/13)

New Features

Here are some features included with Education Plus:

Improved Communications

• Email merge built-into Gmail
• Custom layouts for beautiful HTML emails

Streamlined Collaboration

• Conditional notifications in Sheets for more custom notifications
• Enhanced collaboration within Google Docs with expanded smart chips and building blocks
• Cloud Search to efficiently find files and information across your Google Workspace

Engaging Video

• Upgraded Google Meet features including attendance reports, captions, Q&A, breakouts and more
• Creating videos collaboratively with Google Vids
