Vendor Management Lead

The Vendor Management Lead (VML) is responsible for strategic sourcing strategies, focused on selecting the right partners and solutions through a variety of procurement vehicles.

VML is involved in the oversight of requirements documentation, vendor identification, RFI/RFP development, and lead the commodity and services acquisition phase of the project through contract signing. They are the primary contact within DoIT during this phase of the project. They successfully partner with the project functional team leader and the procurement organization to onboard any and all third parties needed for the project and manage vendor relationships after successful implementation.

Vendor Management Lead duties include:

Procurement:

  • Research and source vendors
  • Lead service/commodity acquisistion
  • Building and managing relationships with companies that supply products and services to this organization
  • Evaluate vendor performance

Management:

  • Ensure all pertinent documentation is created for commodity and services acquisition phase of the project
  • Develop RFP/RFI
  • Managing the project from the end of Initiation to the signed contract with the third party(ies)
  • Reviewing and confirming business requirements are complete and actionable
