Wednesday, October 25th: Come to the InfoSec Social Engineering Social!

On Wednesday October 25th in SAC Ballroom B from 1 - 2:30 PM we will be hosting a social event. This will be an opportunity to mingle with our cybersecurity experts, learn ways to stay safe online, have food, and win prizes! Register on SB Engaged!

Stony Brook Cybersecurity Student Club

Be sure to attend this terrific club at least once this month, which meets weekly on Tuesdays from 4-5PM in Frey 211. All are welcome and no commitment is required to attend. More club information can be views on SB Engaged

Be Aware Of Gift Card and other Financial Scams

Stony Brook employees will never ask for payments to be made via gift cards. All tuition payments will be made directly to Student Financial Services and can be made via Solar, mailed check, or in person at their service counter.

Don’t. Get. Phished.

Every day the bad guys are trying to phish one of us, and they seem to be especially fond of Stony Brook students. What should you do if you receive a phishing email? Make sure to review this important tip sheet and our Secure Computing Guide for Students so you will be fully prepared.

Keeping Your Accounts Secure With Duo Push

  • You will never be asked to share a Duo Passcode through text or email.

  • Random Push?  Do not approve a push if you did not initiate a log in!

  • You can add a backup device to Duo for when your primary device is unavailable.
