Google Apps for Education is the primary email system for everyone at Stony Brook University except Hospital employees and members of the School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine. Stony Brook's Google Apps suite of products includes Google Mail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Contacts, Google Sites, Google Groups, and a host of other applications to enhance communication and collaboration across campus.
Accounts are automatically created for all eligible students, faculty, and staff. Special domains exist for retirees and alumni. Former SB mail systems (Lotus Notes, MS, and MySBmail) are slowly being phased out and will eventually be decommissioned.
