WolfieNet
Eduroam is Stony Brook University's recommended wireless network on West Campus, East Campus, and Southampton. It is available to all faculty, students, and staff. New locations continue to be added as wireless technology and equipment continues to be upgraded and enhanced in order to handle the growing number of devices seeking to connect to the network. For non-academic visitors to the University, WolfieNet-Guest is the recommended network to use.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing our campus community with secure, high-performing wireless connectivity, Stony Brook University is refreshing our on-campus Wi-Fi. Beginning July 22, 2026, Eduroam will become our primary wireless network, replacing WolfieNet-Secure. At that time, all WolfieNet-Secure content will be removed from our IT websites.
Eduroam is already available at all Stony Brook University locations, including Stony Brook East Campus and Southampton. Instructions for how to connect can already be found in the Getting Connected FAQ section of the page linked here.
Additional information and instructions for connecting to Eduroam will be shared with the campus community soon.
There are several wifi networks available to you based on your affiliation with the University and the type of connection you need, but DoIT recommends Eduroam for most students, faculty and staff.
