Teacher Candidate edTPA Support Services

edTPA is a student-centered multiple measure assessment of teaching. It is designed to be educative and predicting of effective teaching and student learning. Stony Brook University's Division of Information Technology (DoIT) supports teacher candidates' edTPA video recording requirements through Audio Visual Services.

Equipment

Available Equipment

HD camcorders, tripods, and wireless microphones are available to students for this initiative. Equipment can be picked up from, and returned to, the Audio Visual Service Counter at the Javits Lecture Center. Operating hours of the service counter vary depending on the semester. Equipment is available on a “first reserve, first serve” basis, dependent upon availability.

Equipment Requests

Requests for equipment should be submitted at least 24 hours in advance. You will receive a confirmation email of your form submission within one business day.

Please Note:
1. This form requires candidates to log in via their Stony Brook NetID to request equipment,
2. R
equests for equipment reservations may only be submitted for the current academic year (August - May).
3. When picking up equipment, candidates will be required to show University ID.

Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Winter Session
Monday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (by appointment only)
Tuesday - Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 p.m.

Summer Sessions I & II
Monday - Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 p.m.

Closed
The Service Counters are have limited hours during Holidays when classes are not in session, or when the Governor closes State Offices. Please contact the Service Counter to find out about specific closures during the year.

Schedule note: Upon changes to the University calendar or emergency class cancellations (snow, disaster, etc), Audio Visual Services closes one half hour after the end of the last scheduled class. Outstanding equipment loans for that day are expected to be returned by that time.
