Stony Brook University's Visa and Immigration Services has gone electronic with accessVIS, an online portal for students, faculty, and staff. The accessVIS system allows electronic submission of immigration requests to Visa and Immigration Services and provides a source of communication for updates and notifications.

Aleph is Stony Brook University's Library Management System. It is used by library staff as a budgetary system for collection building, as well as cataloging collections, and circulation of materials. There are two Aleph systems, one for the East and West Libraries.

CBase is the learning management system used by faculty, staff and students of Stony Brook University's Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine for tracking syllabi, student progress, exam grades, competency completion, and more.

Faculty Profiles

The SBU Faculty Profiles website is available to Stony Brook University faculty across all campuses. The new site is a single place where faculty can update and review their faculty profile. The site acts as the primary repository for several data points and aggregates data from other sources. NetID authentication is required to sign in to update a faculty profile.

NolijWeb Document Manangement System

Nolij is a web-based document management system available for University departments who are interested in eliminating paper and managing their business files online.

Stony Brook University uses PeopleSoft as its core administrative system for managing Financial, Human Resources and Student Administration operations.

Phone Directory and People Search

DoIT feeds information from PeopleSoft and other systems into the campus phone directory and people search online directory. In compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), student data is not accessible from Stony Brook's People Search tool, only that of faculty, staff, and emeritus.

The Residential Management System (RMS) is Stony Brook University's campus housing software tool.

RF Business System

The RF Business System consists of the Oracle suite of grants management, financial and human resources applications. It is primarily a transaction-processing and report-generating system used by the administrative offices that conduct research activity and serve the Stony Brook research community.

SBU 311 App

Use this app to quickly and easily request ROUTINE maintenance in the residence halls. The SBU 311 App allows you to choose your exact location in the SBU residence halls and take a picture of the problem. You can even track the progress of your work request from your mobile phone!

SBU Reporting

Stony Brook University Reporting is a data warehouse of student, course and financial data compiled from PeopleSoft. This information is copied from the PeopleSoft database the previous day.

SOLAR is Stony Brook University's enterprise-wide, self-service system which provides faculty, staff, and students with online access to manage personal information. Students use SOLAR to register for classes, print schedules, view and pay bills, update personal contact information, view transcripts, and submit student employment timesheets. Employees use SOLAR to update personal contact information, view vacation/sick accruals, print class rosters, submit grades, and much more.

SUNY 1, SUNY 2 and SMRT are used by department account managers to view state account allocation, expenditure and encumbrance balances. The system is also used by staff to reconcile AEPC Visa card purchases.
