Although a majority of courses on Blackboard follow a template, instructors can customize their course depending on their teaching style.  

For example Instructors have the ability to:

• make their course hidden to students
• upload documents
• create discussion board forums
• compile questions for assessments on Blackboard
• email students
• manage grades online
• grade and annotate papers
