It is developed by the Laboratory for Computational Neuroimaging at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. FreeSurfer is the structural MRI analysis software of choice for the Human Connectome Project. See for more info.

This particular project is considered a pilot to test the usefulness of electrical power charging stations that students and other members of the campus community can use to plug their mobile devices into whenever batteries run low.
