Brightspace: Email Functionality Change

Based on the feedback we have received from faculty and students, the email functionality in Brightspace will be updated on December 22, 2022 at 2pm. After this update, instructors and students will be able to reply to emails sent to their @stonybrook.edu email account. The Inbox that currently is in Brightspace will be removed. Copies of emails sent through Brightspace will still be available, but all replies will need to take place in your Stony Brook email account. 

This change does not impact notifications. All notifications, including announcement notifications, will be sent to your @stonybrook.edu as long as you have the setting enabled. We recommend that you check your notification settings.

During this time, Brightspace will still be available to all instructors and students.
