Users that have the role of instructor, course builder and teaching assistant have the ability to add students to a course on Blackboard.  Sometimes, students that you are searching for do not show up when searching for them under Find Users to Enroll.  If a student enrolls in a class on SOLAR, drops the class, and then enrolls in the same class again, Blackboard will automatically disable them from entering the course, even if the instructor (or course builder/teaching assistant) deems they should be there.

If you are unable to add a particular student to your course on Blackboard, have the instructor of the course send an email to Blackboard@stonybrook.edu with the follow information:

  • the subject code and course number (i.e. BIO 101.01)
  • the student's name, NetID and Stony Brook ID number
