Setting up the Android OpenScape Mobile Pro App To Make/Receive Office Phone Calls on Your Android Phone

You can make/receive office number calls and access your voicemail from the OpenScape Mobile Pro (OSMO) app for Android.

Before you can use the UC Web Client, Make a Telephony service ticket for Unified Communications for an account to make/receive your office calls from a mobile device or browser.

Sign into UC Web Client and Change Password

Before using the OSMO app on a mobile device, sign into the UC Web Client and change your password.

Install and Set up OSMO Pro

  1. On your Android mobile device, open Google Play and download the OpenScape Mobile Pro app
  2. Read and accept the End User Licence terms for OSMO Pro if you wish to proceed
  3. Read and accept the Emergency Calls Disclaimer; This states that if you use OSMO Pro to place emergency (911) calls, your location details may not be correctly displayed, and advises you to place emergency calls from your mobile's native phone application
  4. When prompted whether to allow the following, tap Allow or Deny as follows (*the order of the prompts may vary depending on your device/version):
    1. Tap Allow for OSMO Pro to make and manage phone calls*
    2. Tap Deny for OSMO Pro to record audio*
    3. Tap Allow or Deny for OSMO Pro to access your photos, media, and files*
  5. Tap on Account to open the account screen
  6. In Account, enter the following:
    1. Subscriber: netid@system (e.g., bsmith@system)
    2. Password: (the password you received when your account was created)
    3. Cell Number: Enter your mobile number as +1 xxx-xxx-xxxx, and be sure to start with +1. (Adding your mobile number is required to make/receive calls using your cellular network, e.g., Verizon or Sprint); if not entered, you can only make/receive calls over WiFi).
    4. Server Address: https://mobile.voip.stonybrook.edu:8443/axis/services
  7. Tap Save.
  8. When prompted to allow OSMO Pro to access your contacts*, tap Allow
  9. When prompted to allow access to the camera*, tap Allow if you want to use video calling
  10. Set up Voicemail:
    1. In settings, tap features and tap Voicemail
    2. Tap Override Number and enter +11021970000 (be sure to start with +1 and use 4 zeros at the end of the number). Tap save and then done
  11. Go to the main Settings and make sure allow VoIP calls is active
