Setting Up a WolfieNet-Secure Connection in Windows 7

Step 1

First, make sure your Wi-Fi adapter is on and enabled.

Step 2

Locate the Wi-Fi icon in the notification area and click it - it will expand to a list of wireless networks.

Step 3

Connect to WolfieNet-Secure. A dialogue box may appear in several seconds prompting you that "Additional logon information is required." Select the option "Enter/select additional logon information."
 

Step 4

A dialogue box will now appear asking for Network Authentication. Enter your NetID in the area where it says username, and your NetID password in the area where it says password.

Step 5

A Windows security alert will now appear stating that "The connection attempt could not be completed." Click "Connect," NOT "Terminate," which is the default option.

Step 6

You will now connect to WolfieNet-Secure. It may take a minute or so, depending on signal strength.

Step 7

Congratuations! You are now connected.


 

Common Troubleshooting

1. If you are encountering persistent problems with WolfieNet-Secure, open the Network & Sharing Center.

2. Click "Manage wireless networks."

3. Find the WolfieNet-Secure profile, and delete it.

4. Redo the initial setup of WolfieNet-Secure.

5. If you still have problems, set the WolfieNet-Secure profile manually.

6. If you have any other problems, visit the Customer Engagement & Support Walk-in Center on the fifth floor of the Melville Library, Room S-5410 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
