If you enrolled in your class or changed sections today:

  • There is a 24-hour delay between SOLAR and Blackboard. If you just registered for a course today, it will appear in Blackboard tomorrow morning. Your instructor can add you to the course manually if they don't want to wait.
  • Your instructor may not have made the course visible to students yet.
  • Your instructor is not using Blackboard.
  • If you switched sections today, the new section will appear in Blackboard tomorrow morning. Your instructor can add you to the new section manually if they don't want to wait.

If you dropped a class to audit it, or dropped a class and re-enrolled in the section:

  • When you drop a course, you're technically still on the Blackboard roster, but a hold is placed on your account. You can't see the course, and instructors can't see or add you. Your instructor will have to contact TLT Instructional Technology Support (blackboard@stonybrook.edu) with your name, Stony Brook ID number, and course number so we may remove the hold and grant you access to the course again.

If you are a Senior Audior with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI):

  • You may log into Blackboard using your NetID and NetID password. Your instructor will have to manually add you to their Blackboard course before you can access any materials.
