Requirements
- Users have a Stony Brook University NetID account
- One of the following operating systems:
- Windows XP with Service Pack 3
- .Net Framework 3.5 - Caution large install
- Windows XP Professional x64 Edition with Service Pack 2
- .Net Framework 3.5 - Caution large install
- Windows Vista with Service Pack 2
- .Net Framework 3.5 - Caution large install
- Windows 7 with Service Pack 1
- Windows 8 support comming soon!
- One of the following web browsers:
- Internet Explorer 8.0 or later
- Mozilla Firefox 13 or later
- Google Chome 19 or later
- An installed copy of Citrix Receiver Enterprise
- You may need to uninstall older Citrix Online Plugin before continuing.
- This companion file has 2 registry files to suppress unnecessary dialog prompts
- Install both the latest versions of Adobe Flash
Installation
- Download and install Citrix Receiver Enterprise Edition
- At the end of instalation you will be asked to enter a URL. Select "I will enter a URL later."
- For a Windows XP based lab, browse to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder and delete the shortcut labeled "Recevier."
- For a Windows Vista or 7 based lab, browse to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder and delete the shortcut labeled "Recevier."
- Extract the above companion file to a folder on your lab image. Add CC_Settings_x86.reg to the Registry if your image is 32bit Windows based. Add CC_Settings_x64.reg to the Registry if your image is 64bit Windows.
- For optimal playback of Adobe Flash videos, install both versions of Adobe Flash for Internet Explorer and FireFox.
- Add a shortcut or bookmark to https://vss.stonybrook.edu/hdxweb at locations users can easily locate and open.
- Read the following information on Configuring HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection on the User Device for background information.
- Only configure the policy labled: "Enable HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection on the user device"
- Set it to Enabled
- In the drop down menu in the lower left pane labeled "Use HDX MediaStrem Flash Redirection," set it to "Always" and press OK.
