Members of the campus community with an active Pharos account can send their print jobs to the Print From Anywhere Queue from mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) as well as computers via email.  To send print jobs to the Print From Anywhere Queue from your email, follow these steps:

1. From your Stony Brook University email account, compose a new email addressed to printfromanywhere@stonybrook.edu.

  • Emails sent to printfromanywhere@stonybrook.edu MUST come from your Stony Brook University (@stonybrook.edu) email account.  Print jobs sent from personal email accounts will not be processed by Pharos and will be deleted.

2. Attach the file(s) you want to print to your email.

3. Once your print jobs are sent, you will receive an email notification when they are ready to be released at a Pharos Release Station.

Please note:

  • You can attach multiple files to one email (with a maximum limit of 10 attachments) and each file will appear as a separate document at the Pharos Release Station.
  • Gmail has a maximum file size limit of 25MB total per email.
  • You cannot use the "Insert files using Drive" option for attachments.  The file needs to be local on your device first and uploaded/attached using the "Attach files" icon.
  • The body of the email itself will also appear as a separate document which you can choose to print.
  • You cannot change printing options (single/double sided printing, printing more than one page per sheet, etc.), so we recommend setting up your printing options and saving the file as a PDF, and printing the PDF rather than the original document if you require these options.
