VoiceThread's integration with Blackboard allows instructors to create an assignment which requires their students to create a VoiceThread, view a VoiceThread, or leave a comment in a VoiceThread.
To set up a VoiceThread assignment in Blackboard, follow these instructions:
1. Log into Blackboard using your NetID and NetID password.
2. Go to the desired content area (Assignments, Course Assignments, etc.) where you want your students to access the assignment.
3. In the content area, click Build Content and choose VoiceThread (in the left column - no longer under Mashups)
4. Enter a Name for the assignment, change Enable Grading to Yes and enter an amount under Points Possible.
- If you do not change Enable Grading to Yes, the Assignment Builder option will not appear later on.
5. Click Submit at the bottom to save your changes.
6. Next, click the title for the assignment that you just created. This will open a "VoiceThread Setup" screen with four options (see below). If you do not see four options, you will need to edit your assignment and enable grading (see Step 4).
7. Click the Assignment Builder button (shown above) and select from the following options:
- Create a VoiceThread: Requires your students to create a new VoiceThread to earn credit.
- If you choose this option, you will be prompted to enter a description for your assignment
- Submit a Comment: Requires your students to submit a comment to an existing VoiceThread (of your choosing) to earn credit.
- If you choose this option, you will be prompted to choose an existing VoiceThread in your account.
- Watch a VoiceThread: Requires your students to watch a VoiceThread of your choosing to earn credit. Comments are turned off for this option, making it ideal for narrated PowerPoints and other presentations.
- If you choose this option, you will be prompted to choose an existing VoiceThread in your account, or create a new one.
