Call for 2016 VisREU Participants for Summer Research Experience Collaborative Data Visualization

Purdue University is accepting applications for participation in the REU Site:

Research Experience for Undergraduates in Collaborative Data Visualization for summer 2016.
REU Site funded by NSF ACI Award 1359223.

Who should apply:

  • All undergraduate students, enrolled in an undergraduate university/college.
  • Priority consideration will be given to members of underrepresented groups and students with limited research resources at their home institutions. However, all students (ALL Majors) with an interest in visualization are encouraged to apply.

What majors will be considered:

All academic majors are encouraged to apply.

Highlights from the 2015 VisREU Experience:

  • The entire 2015 VisREU site was invited to participate in the Mini REU Symposium at The College of Charleston in Charleston, SC (July 2015)
  • The entire 2015 VisREU Site received travel awards to attend and participate in the student poster competition at XSEDE15 Conference in St. Louis, Missouri (July 2015)
  • A 2015 VisREU student was selected to present results from summer project at the REU Symposium at the National Science Foundation in Arlington, VA (October 2015)

We are now accepting applications for 2016 VisREU Summer Program and planning for another successful summer.

All undergraduates with an interest in visualization are encouraged to apply at: https://polytechnic.purdue.edu/vis/reu

  • Online application
  • Unofficial transcript
  • Letter of recommendation

For full consideration note the following IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Applications must be received by 11:59 PM (EST) Wed March 30, 2016
  • Application process closes 12:00 AM (EST) Thu March 31, 2016
  • Unofficial transcripts must be submitted by 6 PM (EST) Thu March 31, 2016
  • Letters of recommendation must be submitted by 8 PM (EST) Thu March 31, 2016

Application review will begin on April 1, 2015.

  • Paid Research ($4K stipend for the summer)
  • Travel Stipend to and from Purdue University
