Adding a Link to Blackboard

Use links to direct students to news or journal articles, or other websites of interest.

1. Select any Content Area from your course menu. 
2. Click Build Content and select Web Link from the drop-down menu.

3. Type the Name and URL (full web address, for example: http://www.stonybrook.edu ) of the website you wish to link to into the boxes provided. It may be easier to copy the URL from another window and paste it into Blackboard.

4. Enter any descriptor Text (optional), attach an accompanying file (optional), then set any desired Options. You must select Yes for Open in New Window, or your link may not work correctly.


5. Click Submit.
6. Click the name of the link to open it.
