This webinar will explore the reasoning behind using different types of questions in a classroom environment that allow faculty to gain a sense of student understanding. Instructional approaches can be adjusted in real-time to correct misconceptions using formative assessment. Multiple choice questions, open-ended word clouds and numerical questions, with details about the approaches, will be discussed in an interactive format using TurningPoint. Other techniques will be briefly discussed, like the impacts of gamification, agile teaching, and peer instruction.
