Renew Your WolfieNet Secure Certificate by April 20, 2022

Last year, the security certificate for the WolfieNet-Secure wireless network was updated. This certificate update is executed every few years in order to keep our network security up to date. With so many of our services relying on the network, it is clear how vital network security is. The process to update the certificate on all your wireless devices is very simple and just takes about 1 minute to complete. Please note that you only need to install this certificate if you have not connected to WolfieNet-Secure in the past year.

Your Stony Brook NetID Password Requires Immediate Attention

In response to President Biden's statement regarding the urgency of improving cyber defenses, you are required to update your NetID password to one that meets the University’s length and complexity requirements to enhance user account security.

Internet Explorer 11 - End of Support

Microsoft has announced that it will stop supporting Internet Explorer 11 on June 15, 2022. It will be removed from any device it is installed on after that date as a part of the regular Windows Operating System patching cycle. Microsoft will no longer provide support or patches. Therefore, it is recommended that you start using a modern browser if you haven’t already.


Duo Security Two-Step Login Coming to all Student NetIDs on December 20th

To better protect your personal information and the University, Duo Security two-step login is going to be required for all Students starting on Monday, December 20th, 2021 to access Single Sign-On protected applications, which includes widely used services such as Email and Zoom.
