In order to assure steady enrollment, semester after semester, in your course, it should be designed and built in the same manner as your home...well-designed, current and solid.

When you design and develop your course, consultation with an instructional design professional from The Faculty Center is as important to the overall success of your course as is the role of an architect in the design and construction of your house. You need an architect to work with you to draw up the plans of what the house will look like and how it should be built. Likewise, you need an instructional designer to work with you to draw up the plans of what your course will look like and what content and learning materials need to be assembled to build your course.

You don't have to be alone when designing and developing your course. The Faculty Center offers course design and development services for Stony Brook faculty. Contact us at ext. 22780 for more information.
