Solstice
Mersive Solstice is a high-performance in-room collaboration platform that improves the usability and productivity of meeting and learning spaces. Solstice enables users on any device to easily share, control, and mark up content on in-room displays to drive more efficient, engaging, and productive meetings.
Mersive, the company behind the Solstice product, has made us aware of a known connectivity issue with Apple devices using their M-Series proprietary chipset. The Solstice software is currently designed around Intel-based processors which can cause intermittent loss of connection for Apple devices that have M1, M2, etc. processors.
Mersive is actively working on a solution which they plan to deploy in Q1 2024. Classroom Technology & Support Solutions will continue to monitor the situation and update this page as we learn more. We will also continue to post updates in the Classroom Technology Updates section of the IT newsletter.
If you are an Instructor who is impacted by this for your class time, please reach out to us via classrooms@stonybrook.edu and we will work with you to provide an alternate solution.
Solstice enables many-to-many collaboration by allowing users on any device to simultaneously share, control, and mark up content on in-room displays with superior ease of use and streaming quality. You can use an Apple, Android, or Windows device to connect to the room display.
The Solstice App allows users to wirelessly connect and stream their mobile device screens and other media content to a Solstice-enabled display in the room over the WolfieNet & Eduroam Wi-Fi connections.
Solstice displays are available in huddle spaces, the Faculty Commons, and many new classroom installations as well as refreshers of older spaces. If you would like to know if your classroom has a Solstice display, please refer to the Installed Classroom Equipment Guide.
